It’s kinda funny to take a vacation while living abroad. When we were packing up at the end of the weekend, I kept picturing our place back in Boulder as to where we were going home to. Whoops, wrong home, I kept thinking, other home. I only took a few pictures, but this one was my favorite. Kind of sums up the trip. Nothing flashy.
We rented a little beach place in Narrabeen, just a 1.5-hour bus ride from our house in the city. The rental was between the coast and a lagoon. (2 blocks on either side) We played at the beach, ate Thai food, took a bus ride to another beach one of the days, chatted it up with locals, walked around the lagoon, Tim surfed, we ate sushi, met up with a few of Tim’s friends, went standup paddleboarding (2x), and saw HEAPS of pink jellyfish (at least 100+ while on the board). It felt good to get away. Almost as good as it felt to come home…other home.
